Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

Any hope you'll backport the fix to support 10.13.6, once you have it stable, so users with older macs will be able to use again displaylink? :(

Hello David, 4.3 Beta 5 dated 31st May 2018 is the correct driver to use with Mojave preview 5. The build number for 10.14 beta 5 is 18a347e. If you have blank external screens with only a mouse cursor, you are not running the latest Mojave beta as Jan flagged here.

Hi - I'm on Release 10.13.4 and have been waiting for the updated DisplayLink for a while now. Working with IT Dept. in Academy House - we see the list of drivers to download from the link but not the one from today that works with 10.13.4. Can you please advise? ( We downloaded the one dated 31.5.18. but this seems to work with version 10.13.3 only.

Same here, installed 10.14 beta 5 on latest public beta of Mojave, but the displays are staying *****. Only the mouse is shown and nothing else is being displayed.

10.14 beta 5 here, and the displays are staying black. The mouse is shown but that's it, nothing else can be displayed.

And what about other MBP owners where Mojave is not supported on those older MBPs?!?! 10.14 Mojave supports only mid 2012 and later MBP....

Poor attempt at a fix and far far too late. Your asking customers to run Beta operating systems in Production now. I mean really? Hardware in the same place as your support - the trash.

The bullshit with DisplayLink’s support here is that they are not working on any High Sierra updates at all, just Mojave. Good I’m the sense that they are supporting NEWer releases of macOS, but the support realistically should be with High Sierra; nobody should be using any pre-releases of macOS besides developers. Damn shame.

Yesterday I did the 10.13.6 update and the workaround for single extended monitor with AirPlay still working very well. The resolution problem continues, but it works good enough.
Thanks so much

Tested and confirmed working with 3x DisplayLink screens in extended mode on Developer preview of Mojave 10.14.5 using DisplayLink 4.3 Beta 5. Hope the fifth Mohave beta gets flipped to public quickly.
THANK YOU DISPLAYLINK!

I'm using 10.13.6 (on a 2011-era MBP) and my single displaylinked monitor continues to work as it did in 10.13.5. It usually comes up properly at boot time as an extended desktop (not mirrored) in 1080p on my (1200p monitor).

Yes, that is with the beta 5 patch loaded.

Thanks Charlie,
Are you using Beta 5 patch? I think that release avoided that issue when monitor went to sleep. Of course, it might have been broken by 13.10.6 update.
Too bad DL is not even keeping us updated on the newer OSX patches. -

I just got a new MacBook Pro with 10.13.6 preloaded and the single extended monitor works only sporadically. I can get it to work, but if the computer goes to sleep, I lose the extended monitor until I reboot my DisplayLink device.

Anyone knows if the workaround for single extended monitor works with 10.13.6 update?
Thanks

C'mon!!! Like a fool I just bought a Dell D6000 for my shiny new MacBook Pro 2018 and can't use my display properly (I need 2560x1080) and the workaround hack (clever though it is) doesn't go that high.
PLEASE unlock some other resolutions for us at least and then fix the drivers!
