Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

I downloaded the new 4.3 for my macbook air....and my second monitor thinks it's in the restart mode. I have a Landing Zone Docking Station with two monitors....one hooked via Thunderbolt and the others via a USB 3.0 connection. Any suggestions to get the other Monitor at least up with duplicate display?

Does anyone have an untouched image of 10.13.3? If so could you upload and let us know where we can download it please? I cannot find it anywhere and other sources look dodgy. Cheers, David : d s a d o w s k [at] g m a i l [dot] c-o-m

Yeah... just found out Apple has dropped support in Mojave for my late 2011 MBP 17" i7 QC, 16GB RAM and 1GB GP which is more than enough capable to handle the OS... I'm so fed up with Apple! Stating they're "environmentally friendly" is pure hypocrisy as their marketing naughty practices to force users to throw away perfectly working machines prove different. Reverting back to 10.13.3 and will stick with it until apps stop working completely - am not getting fooled by this nonsense company anymore.

Can someone explain how they managed it to extend to 2 external displays?
Is it permanent or a shitty solution which will be closed from Apple in a few weeks? Thanks

I have the same issue as Zax:
"After updating to MacOS Mojave version 10.14 Beta (18A384a) and DisplayLink v4.3 beta to try and use two external displays, I can confirm that the "Arrangement" tab comes back and that my laptop recognizes both external monitors and the laptop display at the same time. However, both monitors are always black. The cursor still moves across all three screens, but that's about it.
If you select mirror mode, then select "Gather Windows," and then change the external monitors' "Optimize for:" option to "Built-in Retina Display," you can get mirror mode to work nearly properly (there's occasional minor flicker), but still no solution for other modes (e.g. where each display is independently able to host windows). Is there any fix for this?"

No update since July, 30th? Really? Unacceptable.
Sirs, you are one step away from loosing all your Mac Customers.
Bad, really bad.... -

@Kay. I posted the comment about the beta driver and Mojave working with three displays on my Mac Mini. I just wanted to point out that I'm driving two displays from the Mini (via HDMI and Thunderbolt 2 ports) and one via a DisplayLink USB3 to DVI. I'm not using multiple DisplayLink adapters so if that's what you're attempting I don't know if it will work.

Probably the worst decision we've ever made going with the Targus Dock's that use the DisplayLink drivers, our execs and management cannot understand how the issue hasn't been resolved yet. What we find appalling is the advice to remain on macOS 10.13.3 - our fleet of Macs shipped with 10.13.4, 10.13.5 and now 10.13.6
Choose another option people and stop supporting this company. -

We are still having issues getting external monitors to connect using the 10.14 Mojave beta system and the DL driver of Beta 5 and 6. We tested on ASUS/AOC/ViewSonic/LG monitors and none of our Displaylink USB adapters can support.
Who else is having this issue?
Will there be a fix soon? -

I downloaded v4.3 beta 5 for Sierra 10.13.6 and... IT ERASED EVERYTHING. I had to set up my computer as if it was new out of the box. Installed software remained in applications but files were wiped out and all settings and preferences disappeared!
It is appalling that DELL would release something specific for USB-C the DOES NOT work for USB-C. -

Somehow I was able to get two external monitors work with 10.14 public Beta + DisplayLink v4.3 Beta 5 on my MacBook Air 2017. One monitor still goes black every time I log out and then it takes 10-20 minutes until it goes on again.
P.S. Only one external monitor works with v4.3 Beta 6

I just downloaded the newer driver released in May 2018 the 4.3 and it worked for me.
I am using Hight Sierra 10.13.5. My resolution for the USB monitor is now crap though...and it doesn't seem like you can switch the orientation of the monitor for now either!
Overall I'm just glad I'm not stuck with mirrored displays, but hopefully this is on the top of the list to get this ish optimized again!
Thanks!

I downloaded the Mojave 10.4 public beta after reading that it worked for someone's mac mini with three displays. That's what i need. Can anyone verify if that's actually a solution or did I just upgrade to Mojave invain?
