Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

@Sheldon - DisplayLink wrote that macOS 10.14 and DisplayLink 5.0 support up to 3 external DisplayLink monitors.

WHY ???
macOS 10.14 Mojave with DisplayLink driver v5.0 allows you to run up to 3 extended displays.ARE YOU WORKING ON 4 ??

I upgraded to Mojave and upgraded to the DisplayLink 5.0 version
I have 2 dual display links,, Targus and Lenovo.Laptop screen . OK.
3 of my 4 displays work. The 4th screen is completely black (not even cursor is shown) although it is recognised as a display in System Preferences - Display.
4th screen worked on 10.13.3 and older Display link driver.I can swap cables around, and get different 3 Monitors working on different ports, but the 4th is missing. And if I plug one of the monitors into the DisplayPort, it works.

I upgraded to Mojave and upgraded to the DisplayLink 5.0 version right after - all fixed for my dual monitor setup with the Dell4k dock on a 2017 MBP 13"!
Thanks to you all for persevering through the adversity. It was frustrating for all of us not having our docks working properly but it's fantastic now that everything is back to normal.

My setup is MBPro 2015, Samsung MD230 6x screen display, 2x Dell D3100 - the MD230 connects via 2xHDMI and 1xDisplayPort out of each of the D3100 - at the moment though I only have 3 of the screens connected to 1 of the D3100.
Before I got these screens I had already upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.4 and could not go back so had to put up with just external 2 screens (1 via direct HDMI and 1 via D3100 using the v4.3 driver)
I knew I could not get the full setup working until Mojave arrived, anyway I have just upgraded to Mojave and installed the v5.0 driver, the good news is I now have 3 external screens working, the 4th screen is completely black (not even cursor is shown) although it is recognised as a display in System Preferences - Display, it is shown as "SMMD230 Display" whilst the other 3 displays show as "SyncMaster Display" (and work)
The 3 working displays are all HDMI (1 direct + 2x through D3100), the 4th black display is a DisplayPort output out of the D3100 - I was really hoping Mojave + v5.0 driver would just work but it appears there are still problems.
The 3 working displays are great and I have noticed much better performance of the DisplayLinkManager process which was a major CPU hog under High Sierra.
Any suggestions on getting the DisplayPort screen working much appreciated - perhaps wait for v5.1 of the driver :)

WARNING FOR MacBook Pro 2017 USERS RUNNING 10.14 MOJAVE
I've tried 5.0 driver and it is incredibly buggy. Installation, a couple of restarts, allowing software in Security & Privacy all went smooth and well.
Next, I connected my two DP displays to the HP-branded DisplayLink dock and it all was perfect! So I started working and, suddenly, my both displays went "corrupt" - white and colored vertical straps all over them. So I disconnected the displays, and reconnected. Still same corrupted image pattern. Restart solved it, but only for another 3 minutes. Disconnecting the dock from MacBook solved it this time, but again only for a while. After about ten times I lost patience and reconnected my DP-to-USB-C dongles.
It doesn't matter whether I run in calmshel mode (MacBook lid closed) or not.
This won't probably help anyone, as we all went to 10.13.4 already in the first place. But if you think that driver 5.0 on macOS 10.14 will solve it for your MacbookPro14,3, think again. Or just wait till 5.1 driver…

It works well on Mac OS 10.14 with 5.0 drivers. Two displays 2560x1440 connected and work in extended mode.
I can feel some lag during pointer moving, but I don't remember, maybe it behave the same on previous version.Anyway it works and I really appriciate your effort in this.
Thans a lot!
P.S. I use Macbook Air 2017 Mid.

!!!!!!EVERYONE WHO HAS UPDATED TO MOJAVE (MAC OS 10.14)!!!!!!
IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH TWO DISPLAYS CONNECTED!!!
All you have to do is download the new driver, restart, go to your SECURITY AND PRIVACY setting in SYSTEM PREFERENCES and click the lock to make changes! Look at the bottom of the window and there should be a message that says "SYSTEM SOFTWARE FROM DISPLAYLINK WAS BLOCKED FROM DOWNLOADING"
CLICK ALLOW!!!! then restart your computer. it immediately read both displays and it looks magnificent!!! good luck to you all!

You first.
Has anyone installed Mojave and tried the new driver, both released today (Sep 24)? I've wasted probably a full work week dealing with this mess since February (had to roll back to previous OS and wait it out). I'm hesitant to do it again till I have some -- even remote -- reason to believe someone besides DisplayLink PR staff have installed this and tested it successfully.

Mid 2018 macbook pro using the Dell D6000 dock. Only get 1 monitor with a blank screen and white cursor. No windows or background.
Please fix this issue promptly, I'd really like my 1-cable solution that I paid for a long time ago.
Thanks.
