Until this issue is addressed by DisplayLink I used the following workaround which seems to work as I don't have 100% cpu and dragging on the screens:
Please note that I have a surface book 2 with 2 USB 3.0 ports and only 1 USB C port:
- Connect Targus dock to an USB C to USB 3.0 adapter and connect to one of the surface USB ports.
- Connect USB to HDMI adapter on the USB C port of your surface.
- Connect 1 screen to the dock
- Connect 1 screen to the HDMI adapter
I'm able to use the 2 screens with no "lag" and no high cpu usage like previously.
This is only a workaround but at least I can work...
Update: It seems the dock is still using the onboard gpu on one of the screens so I have a fast screen and a slow screen now :|
