    Agreed, the constantly flashing icon is genuinely distracting during presentations and screen recordings. A persistent static indicator, similar to how other system utilities handle it, would be much cleaner. Upvoted this — hopefully DisplayLink can raise it with Apple.

    Same issue here after the Tahoe 26.1 update — the 5-second freeze happens especially when waking from sleep with the external display connected. Rolling back to the previous driver version resolved it for me temporarily, but a proper fix from DisplayLink would be much appreciated.
