This is actually a very practical feature request, especially for users working with animation software, motion graphics tools, lightweight rendering workflows, and timing-sensitive applications. DisplayLink docking solutions are excellent for productivity and multi-monitor setups, but latency and frame pacing can become noticeable during GPU-intensive or motion-heavy tasks.

A dedicated “Performance Mode” could definitely improve the experience for:

    -animation creators
    -digital artists
    -indie game developers
    -video editors
    -rhythm game players
    -motion graphics professionals

Your idea about temporarily prioritizing bandwidth and reducing compression is particularly important because display compression sometimes introduces slight delays or visual inconsistencies during fast-moving scenes.

    Another useful addition could be:

    -adaptive refresh prioritization
    -low-latency rendering profiles
    -GPU acceleration controls
-automatic resource optimization for creative applications

Many creators now use multi-monitor workflows for 2D animation https://animationgravity.com/2d-animation and design pipelines, so smoother rendering performance is becoming increasingly important even outside traditional gaming environments.

For example, professionals working in modern 2D animation pipelines often rely on responsive visual playback and frame-accurate previews during editing and animation production:

As creative software and lightweight real-time applications continue evolving, having customizable performance-focused display settings would make DisplayLink setups much more attractive for creators and digital professionals, not just office productivity users.
