Another tool worth mentioning for anyone assembling video snippets for a presentation: Video2X for upscaling lower-resolution source clips before embedding them: https://video2x.online/

If your slides include product screenshots, a quick way to clean them up is removing distracting backgrounds first — I've used Video Background Remover for that: https://videobackgroundremover.net/ before dropping the clip into the deck.

Slightly off the slide-deck topic, but if you also need background music for the presentation walkthrough, I have been using Riffusion to generate quick royalty-free tracks: https://riffusion.org/ — saves a lot of time versus browsing stock music libraries.

If you want quick AI-assisted image generation for visual concepts (not full slide decks, but useful for hero images or moodboards to drop into a presentation), I've had good results with King AI: https://king-ai.net/ — worth a look alongside your presentation tool search.

I've had a similar struggle with pitch decks. On the tooling side, FlowAI Studio (https://flowai.studio/) has been useful for generating quick visuals to break up text-heavy slides.

I also went through a similar migration when reworking my photo pipeline off a macOS-only app. Slightly off-topic, but for anyone doing batch photo upscaling/enhancement on Linux after moving away from macOS tools, I've found https://qualityenhancer.org/ works fine in-browser regardless of OS, so it's one less native-app dependency to worry about post-migration.

I made the switch to Linux a while back too. Slightly off-topic, but for anyone running Stable Diffusion on Linux with a DisplayLink dock, I've found https://automatic1111.net/ has a solid guide for getting the WebUI running smoothly on external displays.

A VPS also gives more predictable performance for video processing workloads. On a related note, for cleaning up video assets before deployment I have used Remove Watermark From Video (https://removewatermarkfromvideo.net/) which runs entirely in-browser.
