Direct download from static (vanity) url
Talking to the maintainers of winget;
"The only "detection cycle" is when a publisher uses one static URL and just changes the file that URL downloads (also known as a vanity URL). The bot "wingetbot" scans the repository every day checking for URLs that have a mismatched SHA256 and will attempt to update that specific manifest. There is nothing needed for this to happen, thes scans are performed on all manifests. However, this type of update doesn’t apply for applications that have different URLs for each version."
Obviously, having a static URL would cover several other proposed ideas in this forum such as "direct download for autopkg" and "SCCM SCIP" which have been marked "gathering information" for two years.
In technical terms, you could have a URL for each corporate installer type (or each OS type), which redirects to the file with correct filename (either as HTTP 30x redirection, or the HTTP system knows to produce a different file with the correct headers) .
