How do I install on an external disk?

For Apple OSX:
Although the installer shows a destination button during the install process, once you start it skips it. You cannot select another destination.
I would like to install the driver on an external disk, is there a work around?

Dave, the DisplayLink driver works in tandem with the graphics/OS. Installing them in a different hard drive than the main OS one is not something we would be able to support. As you seem to use the internal drive for the OS, the DisplayLink drivers are also installed on the internal drive with them. If I misunderstood the use case, please correct me.

No I can't, the Mac Mini (2014) is not compatible and will not boot from the system drive of the Mac Pro (2006) desktop.
