I've already installed the displaylink driver, but only one works. Should I need any other hardware?

Currently the 'workaround' specified on DisplayLink forum to enable rotation (open System Preferences with Opt-Cmd pressed) does not enable rotation scheme on all external displays (only allows rotation on internal laptop display..) This provides no assistance to setting rotation for DisplayLink devices.

Please make the change to driver to allow different resolutions (rotated resolutions) on your displaylink devices so that MacOS Catalina etc. users can benefit from rotation on big external displays.

Macbook Air M1. my caldigit thunderbolt3 mini dual hdmi 2.0 with displaylink manager 1.2.0 gives me a no monitor detected. ( in Accessibility and screen recording , DisplayLink manager are checked in preferances.
Do I need a caldigit SOHO usb-c Gen2 dock instead?? I'm stuck. In youtube i see 5 monitors hooked up on a MacBook Air M1 but can't tell what doc and adapters they are using. Can someone help ? tony@useevergreen.com

M1 Mac, BigSur, multiple 4K displays, rotation

I can rotate my main screen attached with HDMI pass through, but not the DisplayLink attached screens. They rotate, but then every screen is mirroring...all are working while mirrored, but that is worthless. Once you disable mirroring, the rotated screens freeze...while the non rotated ones are normal. M1 Macs can't downgrade the OS as BigSur is the minimum. This is definitely *not* fixed. Even BigSur 11.1 doesn't work. Non rotated works fine.

When this upgrade came out, my displaylink stopped supporting the third monitor on my M1 Mac Mini! Was working fine until then.

Robert, The Dell D6000 uses 2 technologies and can drive 3 displays on current Apple computers using Apple M1 silicon:
- 1x native through DP technology, and 1 is the limit today on external displays on laptop using M1 today.
- 2x through DisplayLink technology.
You wouldn't necessarily need other ports on the laptop as you could connect your peripherals through the Dell D6000, making it easy for you to dock/undock.
We have been demonstrating the Dell D6000 on the Macbook Air (Intel based) driving 3 displays for a few years at tradeshows. It also charges the laptop, and with an Apple Magic keyboard and trackpad make a very clean desk.

Great news! So can I drive 3 monitors from a single USB-C port. Don't have an M1 or a USB-C M1 Mac yet. Currently, I need to use both my HDMI port and an external video splitter via Thunderbolt/DP to drive the other two monitors. So I'm looking to get your (for example D6000) to drive my 3 monitors and use the other USB-C port for other functions on a new M1 MacBook Air (waiting until summer 2021 to get an updated Pro model). Hopefully, next summer I'll have MBP M1 for work and MBA M1 to drive my music studio setup. But for now, I'm thinking of picking up the MBA.

Is there AS support being worked on for the Big Sur DisplayLink Drivers?

Hi, I am experiencing the exact same issue as mentioned in David's comment on November 28, 2020 8:25 AM.

Installed DisplayLink Manager v1.2.0 Build 55.125. And above issue appears.

Tried to go back to a version, and installing DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for macOS Catalina 10.15, Mojave 10.14, Release: 5.2.5 13 Aug 2020. Could not enable or load the kext. Nothing was shown to be blocked in the Security & Privacy preference setting. But the kext remains shown as "No" loaded in the System Report. Not sure if it's to do with the new Apple Silicon chip.

Please help. Would really want to restore 1 of the 2 external monitors to a portrait mode. Thank you.

Running external monitor via DisplayLink Manager and this troubleshooting article (https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/589248-screen-rotation-option-is-not-available-on-mac-os) doesn't help me get screen rotation on the display link monitor. Is this a known issue?

OS X 10.15.7, Mid 2016 MBP, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB graphics chip.

I hate MacOS so much.. this is ridiculous.. I need to switch back to Windows and ditch this POS, it's taking me awhile to figure out how to rotate a GD external screen. whereas my work Windows work computer, you just right click on the display and rotate..

When connected via the dock, the 'rotation' option does not appear for my external monitor.

When I connect the external monitor directly to my macbook pro (via hdmi), the rotation option does appear. I have downloaded drivers for displaylink, for MAC OS X version 10.15.7 (my current version).

Is there a way of having this work via the dock?

@Alban this doesn't work on DisplayLink Manager v1.1 and is a huge annoyance.

After 2 hours of troubleshooting, I finally was able to get rotation working on Catalina 10.15.5. My setup is 3 externals, 1 ultrawide as main and 2 smaller screens left and right. I have my left screen in portrait orientation.

1) Install Legacy driver 5.2.5 https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1636
2) Restart
3) For me, I had to unplug and replug power of dock to get Dell D6000 dock to recognize all 3 externals
4) If for some reason System preferences is already open, CLOSE IT
5) Move your mouse to the screen that you want to rotate
6) On -that- screen, Apple Icon -> System preferences
7) Hold down Option + CMD keys and click 'Displays' in the System preferences
8) You should then see the 'Rotate' option -only- on the dialog on the screen that actually opened 'Displays' from System Preferences.

TLDR: The rotate option only seems to show on the screen that is actually opening system preferences -> Displays.

Really painful to figure this out but it works for me.

Using TRIO - main monitor is okay, second monitor is ok - third monitor is upside down. Help! Why can't I rotate the third screen... MacOS Catalina 10.15 on a MacBook Air.

I waited in 2 years and the zenscreen still cannot rotate when the primary screen on macbook is avaible
