Brightness and Contrast Control settings
Overview
This article describes the feature introduced in DisplayLink Manager 1.12.1, which supports adjusting brightness and contrast directly using the sliders available in the application's GUI. This addition allows users to change brightness and contrast on DisplayLink devices with any DDC/CI compliant monitor.
With this feature, users can use a single application to adjust brightness and contrast on all displays connected through any DisplayLink product. DDC/CI, which stands for Display Data Channel / Command Interface, is a standard protocol for exchanging data between monitors and computers.
Requirements
Brightness and Contrast control feature requires for correct operation:- A Mac computer running macOS Ventura or later,
- DisplayLink Manager 1.12.1 or later,
- A monitor that supports the DDC/CI standard,
- DisplayLink-based device.
How it works?
When your setup meets all the requirements, you will see the sliders for brightness and contrast controls upon opening the DisplayLink Manager Graphic Interface. The upper slider adjusts brightness, while the lower slider adjusts contrast.

When the DisplayLink device is connected, the monitor settings are received via the application and reflected in the sliders.
Moving the sliders to the right and left changes the physical settings of the monitor, corresponding to those shown in the OSD.
