What are the minimum Chromebook requirements for DisplayLink docking station?
DisplayLink software is inboxed in ChromeOS from build R51.
All Chromebooks using ChromeOS build R51 or later will work with DisplayLink docks and adapters without additional driver installation.
The performance of the software is dependent upon the processing power available, as well as the operating system in use.
More capable systems will provide better performance.
It is recommended to use up to date ChromeOS with latest DisplayLink driver for best performance.
Final experience depends strongly on specific use case. Following specification was tested with following use cases:
2x4K displays with desktop use case
2x4K displays with single FullHD video playback
Minimum typical system requirements are:
CPU: 2 Gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for NEON or SSE2 instruction set
RAM: 4 GB or more recommended for 2 or more DisplayLink displays
USB 3.0 port
Note: 4K resolutions may work on Chromebooks with systems specs lower than these, however the performance may not be acceptable.
