DisplayLink Manager App - HiDPI modes

In DisplayLink Manager 1.8 there has been added an option to enable additional 3008x1692 and 2560x1440 HiDPI modes on Apple Silicon machines. From DisplayLink Manager 15.0 this option is enabled by default.

To control the feature, simply navigate to the Settings tab and toggle "Addtional HiDPI modes" option:

After selecting this option you may observe a quick monitor blink as DisplayLink Manager its internals for this change to take effect.

With this feature enabled you should now be able to select 3008x1692 and 2560x1440 HiDPI modes in Displays Preferences:

Limitations of this feature

  • An option to toggle this feature on and off is available only on Apple Silicon machines. To use new modes a display capable of displaying 3008x1692 or 2560x1440 resolution is required.
  • As a side effect, the list of available resolutions may include modes that exceed the screen’s native resolution.
