How to enable night light or f.lux on DisplayLink displays on Windows

Windows 10 now supports a feature called “Night Light“. It allows you to reduce the blue light of your monitors during dark hours (or in a dark room) so your eyes feel more comfortable. F.lux also provides a similar solution.

From DisplayLink software version 9.0, DisplayLink displays can support this feature. To enable it:
  1. Start RegEdit.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DisplayLink\Core
  3. Create new String value with name EnableGammaRamp and set the data to be: true
  4. Unplug and plug your DisplayLink device.
  5. Enable “Night light”.
This should work with any DL-3xxx, DL-5xxx or DL-6xxx based product. Note that this is only supported on DisplayPort outputs from a DL-6950 based product.
