Android phone or tablet does not work with DisplayLink USB C dock

When connecting a DisplayLink USB C dock to an Android device, the DisplayLink screen does not work.

We have found that when some phones are connected over USB C, and are charged via the USB C cable from the dock, DisplayLink screens do not work. It appears that some Android devices do not go into USB host mode (so they can enumerate USB devices like DisplayLink) when they are being charged.

To work around this, you can use a USB C to USB A adapter to connect to the phone, then use a USB A to USB C cable to connect to the DisplayLink dock. This will prevent USB C delivering power to the phone and allow it to enumerate the USB devices connected
