Use GPU rendering to lower CPU usage
Can we access the GPU to take advantage of OpenGL, etc, to avoid the heavy CPU (and laptop battery) usage?
DisplayLink software already checks the CPU and GPU resources available on a platform and uses these to provide the best user experience possible.
This is why some compatibility issues can be resolved by updating to the latest graphics drivers available for your primary graphics card,
still having DisplayLinkManager using > 30% CPU
iMac Retina 4k late 2017: OSX 10.14.4; 4Gb Radeon Pro graphics card;
using USB to DVI adapter for external monitor
iMac set to do auto-updates daily
Just updated to latest DisplayLink driver, but no improvement
Situation frequently crashes apps
Appreciate any help you can suggest
It'd be great if external GPU's were also taken into consideration.
