Ceramic coating on my BMW – is it really worth the hype?
I've been going back and forth in my mind for weeks about whether to get a ceramic coating applied to my 2018 BMW 4 Series. I've heard so much about how it protects the paint, makes the car easier to clean, and keeps that showroom shine for years, but I'm also a bit skeptical about whether it's really worth the significant cost. I've always been pretty diligent about washing and waxing my car myself, but I'm tired of spending hours every weekend only to have the car look dusty again within a day, and the paint is starting to show some light swirl marks that I'd like to get rid of. I've been looking at a few detailers in Abu Dhabi, and I came across https://exoticcarcare.ae/bmw-detailing-abu-dhabi/ which seems to offer everything from paint correction to ceramic coating packages. I'm leaning towards going for it because I plan on keeping this car for a long time and the idea of having a sacrificial layer of protection against the sun and dust is really appealing. But I'm also wondering if it's overkill for a daily driver that's going to get dirty anyway, and whether the claims about self-cleaning properties and scratch resistance are actually true in the real world. Has anyone here had a ceramic coating done on their BMW in Abu Dhabi and can honestly say it made a noticeable difference? I'm also curious about how long it actually lasts before needing a top-up, because I've heard different things from different detailers. Any advice or honest feedback would be really helpful before I take the plunge. Cheers.
