We have a use case for an office building in which all desks are equipped with thin clients that allow users to connect in to virtual desktops. At the same time, some customers have laptops and choose to connect them directly to the monitor and keyboard.

DisplayLink owns a patent for a device that can function as both a thin client and a docking station. It sounds like the use case I have.

But does the device genuinely exist?
