Solution: Go into Chrome Settings. Search for "hardware". Disable "Use hardware acceleration when available" and restart chrome. Netflix and Amazon Prime Video have images again. -

It's because of the screen recording integration that Display Link has. I don't know why they even have that, because it feels privacy violating. But streaming services don't want you to screen record their content, so you only get a black screen. Because Display Link is non-stop recording your screen. I hope they are going to remove this nonsense integration. Because this tempers with people their workflows and usage of their screens.

It is rather annoying not to be able to watch on one screen while working on the other...

Thank you @Aslam! @DisplayLink can we get an update on this? It's very frustrating to not be able to use hardware acceleration on chrome. This issue exists across Safari as well.
Please update!

SOLUTION:
Hey Guys! This is a problem with DRM. Websites that protect their content don't show when DisplayLink is on, because the way they emulate a screen is like "recording it". To get around this, download a web browser that is not safari, go into options and disable hardware acceleration, It should work fine :) -

Hi, I had the same issue and managed to fix it by allowing recording for chrom in apple settings.
setting>privace & Security>Screen Recording
and then just turn on the recordings for chrome, restart chrome.

Having this same issue with Hulu as well. No picture, only sound until I disconnect DisplayLink.
I did try the user suggestion below to disable hardware acceleration in the browser and the Hulu video plays normally again, but this isn't ideal as I'm noticing some other wonky graphics behavior without hardware acceleration. -

I would also like this issue to be resolved! When trying to use Hulu on any browser on my Macbook Pro and connected to a second screen via DisplayLink, video is only a black screen and all I get is audio. The moment I disconnect from DisplayLink, the video plays just fine. This is not ideal as I'd like to be able to use my connected larger monitor!
