For DL-3xxx and DL-5xxx devices especially.
This is already working for MacOS but not working for Windows (as mentioned in DisplayLink KB 544870) and Linux.
This will allow multiple DisplayLinks to be used on single VM hosts behaving like thin clients, which is an enormous user base and thus market potential.70 votes
General overhaul of DisplayLink UI and installation manual. If I were complete beginner, I probably would have no chance to get it running properly.3 votes
Hello, we have started changing to offer an app from the Windows Store on Windows 10.
We just deployed a few hundred of these devices (The Dell D6000)and the OSX devices will not use the system keychain to authenticate to 802.1x, This works properly with the onboard NIC, Apple USB-C Adapter, Belkin USB-C Adapter.
We use an OSX Profile that states how to connect to 802.1x with ethernet using system credentials. This does not work with the Displaylink Dock. I can however manually input credentials manually and it works, but no user accounts are allowed to authenticate only machine accounts.29 votes
HI! I really love this app, truly works like a charm. I have a galaxy S8 and an ultrawide monitor. Unfortunately the app only transmints in 16:9 so there are black edges all around the image, even up and down. It would be really nice to fix it, but still, this is a great app. Hope it gets in soon. Good luck!1 vote
Correction: limitation today is not in DisplayLink application but Android which limits to clone mode. Phones not being Ultrawide means that even at 1080p (the max resolution we have enabled today), we are unable to fill the screen.
In older versions of Windows there use to be a capability to have different profiles for a "docked" PC and an "unlocked" PC. This would be a great capability for you to add into your product since it is now a corporate mandate.
My main issue is that I set up my desktop the way I like it and then when I either connect the USB or disconnect the USB all my settings are lost and I can't find my desktop icons anymore. This is a negative impact on my productivity.6 votes
We are trying to automate software updates and track inventory of DisplayLink drivers in our macOS environment. Trying to parse versions when the value reports as
DisplayLink Driver 4.1.11 - Copyright 2003...makes it difficult.
In the driver Info.plist file, please set the
CFBundleShortVersionStringkey in the x.x.xx format. Even better, clean up the
I use SUNIX VGA2715 which shows it is DisplayLink adapter. It works fine on Mac but it dosn't work on FreeBSD even if I load dynamic kernel module "udl".
I am not familiar with that ; if it requires additional driver, could DisplayLink provide or give me any possible to workaround ?
Would be nice to rackmount a few of my PCs in the garage and just gave displaylink devices on the desks kinda like dumb terminals. 3m USB 3 cable limit doesnt allow for this. Maybe its possible with usb extenders. But to get the hot and loud gaming PC's out of the rooms will be a win.9 votes
to integrate a PAUSE function into your firmware, that freezes the displayed content anc can eb activated/de-activated by keyboard.
Freeze functions on classical projectors were very popular, in particular for people facilitating workshops or holding seminars. With the introduction of LCD screens this feature disappeared. Display link could easily re-introduce this. Ideally, hitting a (user-definable) key combination would turn PAUSE on and off. In addition the status (frozen / unfrozen) should be displayed with the application icon.
Please go ahead :-)1 vote
