Linux wayland support
Displaylink does not seem to work with wayland yet, which is starting to be the standard, replacing Xorg, on linux soon:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/WaylandByDefault
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayland_(display_server_protocol)Would be great if you could also support wayland!
197 votesTo work with Wayland, EVDI lacks GBM. For anyone that would be willing to have a go and develop a GBM backend, here’s how it was already implemented for Chrome OS in their minigbm: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform/minigbm/+/master/evdi.c

Examine why we need to re-install the drivers for displaylink for every patch or update to Windows 10.
Examine why we need to re-install the drivers for displaylink for every patch or update to Windows 10.
14 votesThis problem is solved from Windows 10 Anniversary update 2016 onwards, which uses a new architecture for USB graphics.

add brightness support to non-windows OSes
It's stated in the documentation that color correction and brightness do not work. I'm mostly interested in controlling the birghtness - is display link working on these features for non-windows OSes?

Support for Dell XPS in Ubuntu 16.10
It seems to me that many people are reporting instability issues for Ubuntu 16.10 using the latest 1.2.65 driver. Severe instabilities occur for certain types of hardware that was supported in Ubuntu 16.04.
I have a Dell XPS 13 (9343) and DL-3100. The screen keeps disappearing and re-appearing. It happens really randomly and sometimes many times per minute, other times it might be once per 20 minute. The displays go to black and everything crashes. It crashes often, but not always. This makes the applications stuck to that display crash as well. It is very poor performance…

Resolve the compatibility issue with Duet Display, Twomon, Spacedesk, etc.
After I purchased a USB Type C dock driven by DisplayLink technology for my laptop, a big issue derived: every time I want to use Duet Display with my iPad Pro or Twomon USB with my Pixel C, I would have to uninstall the DisplayLink driver before I plug any of my tablets. When I get home and try to connect to my dock, I would have to go through the setup process again. This is just a big inconvenience for people like me.
17 votesThanks to the new driver architecture with Windows 10 Anniversary Update onwards, this has been completed.

Release Linux driver source code to the community
Your "Ubuntu" driver package works inconsistently, fails every time there is a system update to the kernel or the X server, and performs badly. It's clearly not a priority for your development team, who likely have orders to focus their efforts on the larger market-share platforms. The open-source community is packed with talented developers who will work for free to help you deliver a more polished product, providing a better experience for your users, and ultimately resulting in more product sales.

Displaylink manager with Linux driver take 150% of CPU
Tested with the latest Ubuntu 17.10, a Dell XPS13 9360, a Dell dock D3100 and 2 iiyama prolite screens, the driver works pretty fine but... after some niutes, it take too much CPU resources ! It's over 150%... CPU fans gonna be crazy and CPU temp reach 80° very quickly...
As a consequence, unfortunetly, I just cannot use the displaylink dock :(On my side, I can try to investigate more deeply if needed,
Thanks

FreeBSD support
I use SUNIX VGA2715 which shows it is DisplayLink adapter. It works fine on Mac but it dosn't work on FreeBSD even if I load dynamic kernel module "udl".
I am not familiar with that ; if it requires additional driver, could DisplayLink provide or give me any possible to workaround ?
Thanks,

Bring back the forum link under Driver Downloads.
This product poses difficulties on nearly all platforms and your users need a place to discuss this and collaborate. Your attempt to remove the forums (that still exist at http://www.displaylink.org/forum/) has not gone unnoticed, and at face value appears to be a step in the wrong direction.
From the top of this page: "However members of the DisplayLink team are active on the DisplayLink Forum, where your question may already be answered."

Support Windows 10 Mobile Continuum
In the MS world, Disply Link support is good when running Windows on a laptop or a tablet. When it comes to Windows phones. it is the opposite: nothing, nada.
Ask Microsoft, They are so in need of trendy feature to boost their market share in mobile phone business, I am ready to bet they would finance the development.
86 votesA driver for Continuum was done and demonstrated. However, for phones, it will need your phone manufacturer to integrate the driver as the phone does not behave like a desktop Windows.

to integrate a PAUSE function into your firmware, that freezes the displayed content anc can eb activated/de-activated by keyboard.
Freeze functions on classical projectors were very popular, in particular for people facilitating workshops or holding seminars. With the introduction of LCD screens this feature disappeared. Display link could easily re-introduce this. Ideally, hitting a (user-definable) key combination would turn PAUSE on and off. In addition the status (frozen / unfrozen) should be displayed with the application icon.
Please go ahead :-)

So are you going to FIX the video versus mass storage device USB driver issue between Windows 10 Anniversary and HP Docking HSTNN S01X ?
So are you going to FIX the video versus mass storage device USB driver issue between Windows 10 Anniversary and HP Docking HSTNN S01X , or are we just out of luck?
1 voteThis cannot be fixed by DisplayLink as we now need to use the Microsoft USB driver. The Microsoft USB driver cannot support switching USB configurations, which is required to support these docks. This means there are no plans to fix this issue.

fix the random logout issue with Displaylink on a Macbook pro
My idea is that the driver is usable without logging me out because the display server crashes on my MBP. This happens once or twice a week causing me to lose work, get disconnected from meetings, etc.
4 votesThis requires fixes from Apple on later versions of OS X.The crashes do not occur on 10.8, even though it is the same driver.

Widescreen 21:9
Support for 21:9 Display resolution
1 voteDisplayLink technology doesn’t have any restriction on layout or aspect ratio. I suggest you open a technical support case with your details with tecnhical_enquiries at displaylink, com to check that you don’t hit a hardware limitation from your adapter.

command to switch display model
command to switch display model, like to switch close model, switch to expand model, switch to mirror model
3 votesThis is currently possible using the standard Windows APIs. It is forbidden for a graphics driver to change layout and it will make it fail qualification. When a driver is not qualified, it is not Microsoft signed and cannot be on Windows Update.

Fix your product links.
Clicking on your link to the amazon page for the AOC e1659Fwux- Pro sends an infinite amount of links due to not having an H at the beginning of the web address in the code.

Can you fix the issue with dual graphics cards?
I have had a problem with your displaylink products for months now, it's causing my entire OS to hand. It seems I'm not the only one, I found the below forum post showing multiple people have the same issue.
http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63963I've tried cleanups, reinstalling the latest drivers and all I could think of. The only way I can get the system to stop crashing is if I always reboot my PC right after I disconnect display link each and every time which is ridiculous. I wouldn't buy a laptop if I wanted to reboot 5…
7 votesThis should now be fixed in the latest V7.9 M5 release from DisplayLink
