  1. Can you fix the issue with dual graphics cards?

I have had a problem with your displaylink products for months now, it's causing my entire OS to hand. It seems I'm not the only one, I found the below forum post showing multiple people have the same issue.
    http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63963

I've tried cleanups, reinstalling the latest drivers and all I could think of. The only way I can get the system to stop crashing is if I always reboot my PC right after I disconnect display link each and every time which is ridiculous. I wouldn't buy a laptop if I wanted to reboot 5 times a…

    • Increased Mouse lag since the W10 Redstone / DP Driver 8.0 Update.

I have increased Mouse lag since the W10 Redstone / DisplayLink Driver 8.0 Update. I have a 3-screen Setup here. Surface Pro 3 + the DisplayLink USB Docking Station with 2 additional Screens. Working on those 2 external Screens got a bit tedious since the W10 Redstone / DisplayLink 8.0 Update. Maybe I´m too sensitive, but I feel enough mouse lag on the external Screens to slow down my daily work a bit. I´m using the DisplayLink Adapter since 2 years now and there were highs and lows regarding lag, but Version 7.9 on Windows 10…

        • automate recovery of of known issues

use disable monitor (github) like code, or partner with that fellow to configure reliable placement of primary and tertiary displays. Such software could also probably be used to automate the recovery steps for the osx beta involving turning off all monitors and turning them back on... etc. Could be scripted and done without the user. At the least, check out the prj for quicker QA...

This can be done today, using standard OS interfaces. DisplayLink displays can be managed using OS APIs.

Any known issues or problems that can be detected or worked around are already done today.

We are aware that installing macOS release Version 10.13.4 will cause DisplayLink connected displays to go blank after the OS upgrade, with the current DisplayLink driver [4.1] installed. Functionality such as Ethernet and audio, where implemented, is unaffected. We have alerted Apple to this issue and are working hard to find a resolution. These features continue to work as expected in 10.13.3.

In the meantime, we are releasing a new driver [4.3] that will enable clone mode, but not mirror or extended mode displays in 10.13.4. If you require mirror or extended mode displays, we recommend that you stay on macOS 10.13.3 at this time.

We understand that this loss of functionality on OS upgrade is potentially disruptive for our users and customers. Please be assured that this issue has the highest business priority in DisplayLink. We thank you for your patience and will provide an update on this situation,…

                      • TrayIcon should always display if installed

Suggestion: The DisplayLink Manager TrayIcon should show even if the hardware is not detected. In that case, it should provide links to helpful KB articles (or better yet, include the troubleshooting steps offline).

That would have saved me about three hours of troubleshooting a 3rd-party (LizTek) product before I finally stumbled on this site.

Thank you for the suggestion. Now in implementation on v8.0 of our drivers. This will help the debugging by telling which element of the chain is missing. Today, the icon is only visible if drivers are installed, AND a device using DisplayLink technology is connected and running AND a working monitor is plugged into it.

                        • to integrate a PAUSE function into your firmware, that freezes the displayed content anc can eb activated/de-activated by keyboard.

Freeze functions on classical projectors were very popular, in particular for people facilitating workshops or holding seminars. With the introduction of LCD screens this feature disappeared. Display link could easily re-introduce this. Ideally, hitting a (user-definable) key combination would turn PAUSE on and off. In addition the status (frozen / unfrozen) should be displayed with the application icon.

                          Please go ahead :-)

                          • Connecting via Cat6 instead of USB3

Would be nice to rackmount a few of my PCs in the garage and just gave displaylink devices on the desks kinda like dumb terminals. 3m USB 3 cable limit doesnt allow for this. Maybe its possible with usb extenders. But to get the hot and loud gaming PC's out of the rooms will be a win.

                              • Alert to security issues if staying on older macOS

UPDATE macOS, abandon this unstable and insecure devices instead. Apple says DisplayLink is incorrect and opens you to a world of security flaws. I can open a port on the Ethernet using simple SSH commands that shouldn’t be that easy.

You advise not to update. Apple says the opposite and you are misleading customers into possible security issues. Reported and under review by Apple. Good luck, you have truly done your Apple patrons wrong in more than one way.

If you can’t build an alpha in a year, this beta should land about the same time I land…

                                • Nightshift mac os sierra high and high cpu usage with high temps

I have a 2017 Macbook pro touch bar with a sabrent usb c docking station( best on amazon) . First of all nightshift doesn't work on the extra displays. I get high temperatures(80-90 celsius) even when almost not doing any tasks, keep in mind I have the highest spec Macbook pro (4 GB graphics card).

Please try to get nightshift to work and also fix the high usage of cpu even when not doing anything.

                                    • Don't require drivers to be installed for disabled display adapters

I have a machine with an integrated display adapter and a PCI adapter running Windows 10. The integrated controller is not supported by Windows 10 and I have disabled it using device manager (I don't have an option to disable it in BIOS). When I attempt to install the DisplayLink core software, it re-enables the disabled adapter and then tells me it cannot install the software because there are no drivers for the adapter that I had disabled.

                                      • Loose connector between USB3 and VGA converter

Improve connection between USB3 and VGA converter. The small, non-standard connector is falling out all the time. Make a screwed in connector as is found on the DVI/VGA side.

DisplayLink is not responsible for the product design. We provide ICs which can be integrated into products. Physical hardware failures such as this, should be fed back to the product manufacturer.

                                        • add support for the VMWare SVGA Driver so that virtual machine guests can use display link

When using virtual machines it would be really handy to have them display via usb adapters on spare monitors or PIP overlays in fancy monitors.

Many virtualisation engineers would be buying your products, many times.
