We are aware that installing macOS release Version 10.13.4 will cause DisplayLink connected displays to go blank after the OS upgrade, with the current DisplayLink driver [4.1] installed. Functionality such as Ethernet and audio, where implemented, is unaffected. We have alerted Apple to this issue and are working hard to find a resolution. These features continue to work as expected in 10.13.3.
In the meantime, we are releasing a new driver [4.3] that will enable clone mode, but not mirror or extended mode displays in 10.13.4. If you require mirror or extended mode displays, we recommend that you stay on macOS 10.13.3 at this time.
We understand that this loss of functionality on OS upgrade is potentially disruptive for our users and customers. Please be assured that this issue has the highest business priority in DisplayLink. We thank you for your patience and will provide an update on this situation,…

Alert to security issues if staying on older macOS
UPDATE macOS, abandon this unstable and insecure devices instead. Apple says DisplayLink is incorrect and opens you to a world of security flaws. I can open a port on the Ethernet using simple SSH commands that shouldn’t be that easy.
You advise not to update. Apple says the opposite and you are misleading customers into possible security issues. Reported and under review by Apple. Good luck, you have truly done your Apple patrons wrong in more than one way.
If you can’t build an alpha in a year, this beta should land about the same time I land on mars.

Issues with OSX using 802.1x using System Keychain
We just deployed a few hundred of these devices (The Dell D6000)and the OSX devices will not use the system keychain to authenticate to 802.1x, This works properly with the onboard NIC, Apple USB-C Adapter, Belkin USB-C Adapter.
We use an OSX Profile that states how to connect to 802.1x with ethernet using system credentials. This does not work with the Displaylink Dock. I can however manually input credentials manually and it works, but no user accounts are allowed to authenticate only machine accounts.

Support WIndows 10 Night Light
With the Windows 10 Creators Update, you can now lower the amount of blue light emitted from your PC with the new Night light feature.
Settings > System > Display
This feature doesn't work on my HP s140u monitor using DisplayLink 8.4.2250.0. I'm guessing it might not work on lots of other devices too.

Create the ability to defined "docked" vs "undocked" profiles for the USB docking station
In older versions of Windows there use to be a capability to have different profiles for a "docked" PC and an "unlocked" PC. This would be a great capability for you to add into your product since it is now a corporate mandate.
My main issue is that I set up my desktop the way I like it and then when I either connect the USB or disconnect the USB all my settings are lost and I can't find my desktop icons anymore. This is a negative impact on my productivity.

Please use versioning format x.x.xx instead of x.x (xx)
We are trying to automate software updates and track inventory of DisplayLink drivers in our macOS environment. Trying to parse versions when the value reports as `4.1 (11)` or `DisplayLink Driver 4.1.11 - Copyright 2003...` makes it difficult.
In the driver Info.plist file, please set the `CFBundleShortVersionString` key in the x.x.xx format. Even better, clean up the `CFBundleGetInfoString`

Release Linux driver source code to the community
Your "Ubuntu" driver package works inconsistently, fails every time there is a system update to the kernel or the X server, and performs badly. It's clearly not a priority for your development team, who likely have orders to focus their efforts on the larger market-share platforms. The open-source community is packed with talented developers who will work for free to help you deliver a more polished product, providing a better experience for your users, and ultimately resulting in more product sales.

I have a 2017 Macbook pro touch bar with a sabrent usb c docking station( best on amazon) . First of all nightshift doesn't work on the extra displays. I get high temperatures(80-90 celsius) even when almost not doing any tasks, keep in mind I have the highest spec Macbook pro (4 GB graphics card).
Please try to get nightshift to work and also fix the high usage of cpu even when not doing anything.

Fix What Fall Creator's Update Breaks
Fix Win10 Fall Creator's Update breaking software config of dock software. Win10 update uninstalled dock drivers. I saw a 1-second announcement in lower right corner of screen when Win10 update finished installing that displaylink driver was uninstalled. So far graphics functionality restored but audio stutters upon slightest load on computer if routed through dock. Zero issues with dock several months ago before windows updates.

Displaylink manager with Linux driver take 150% of CPU
Tested with the latest Ubuntu 17.10, a Dell XPS13 9360, a Dell dock D3100 and 2 iiyama prolite screens, the driver works pretty fine but... after some niutes, it take too much CPU resources ! It's over 150%... CPU fans gonna be crazy and CPU temp reach 80° very quickly...
As a consequence, unfortunetly, I just cannot use the displaylink dock :(On my side, I can try to investigate more deeply if needed,
Thanks

Use https for driver download site
The current download site uses http, which is prone to MitM attacks. It would be possible to offer people a DisplayLink driver that is infected with malware.

Enable 4K HDR support to TV's for extended display use when viewing High End Photographs in Capture One or other Photo Edditing software
A large number of Photographers are using high end Cameras capable of recording 16 bits per pixel HDR. There are also a large number of 4K HDR TV's being sold but they only display Jpeg format at 8 bits per pixel. It would be fantastic to have a device that would bring these technologies together so people could use their TV's to view and or edit their HDR photographs properly on a 4K HDR device.
6 votesThank you for the suggestion. Could you specifiy the platform you are using? PC/Mac, which OS, which application and product using DisplayLink technology? For HDR, all elements must do their part and they are not all technically capable.
