The issue with Chrome is due to the fact that recent Chrome releases enabled some hardware acceleration feature that seems to be incompatible with DisplayLink. The workaround that worked for me was to disable the HW accel. feature in the Chrome settings page.

Same issue here with Chome on monitor connected to display link device. Seems if I go back to Chrome 45 it's fine, I just can't keep it from updating automatically, tried everything I can find on preventing the update.

Matt G im having same issue with Chrome specially where images become scramble when the browser is dragged to Acer monitors, i updated the display link driver to the new beta one on the download pager but it does not seem to work. any Ideas how to fix this?

It still sucks - all of a sudden my browsers, especially Chrome, went wonky.

I'm having problems using both drivers 2.4 and 2.5 beta 2:

        Mac OS X 10.11
        MacBook Pro (Retina, Metà 2012)
        Kensington dock sv3500v

        1. moving windows on the screen make them "scrambled" and unreadeble, but If I make a printscreen the produced image is perfect (I can make a photo of my screen).
        2. menu bar is black and unreadable
        3. sometime whileworking OS X ask for password (as it was suspended, but I'm working on it) and my windows PC on vmware fusion show a black screen, but in vmware fusion preview I'am able to view my PC scree (of course I cannot use it).

Please help my kensington dock is becoming unusable

I have a MBPro 13" Retina (i7 quad-core) with OS X 10.11 and after installing 2.5 beta 2 all my displays started working again. I have 1 HDMI, 1 DVI + a third monitor connected to a USB2DVI DisplayLink adapter that is also connected to my DisplayLink Dock.

Everything seems to be working as before but I'm noticing spikes of load on the CPUs that cause the machine to be unresponsive for couple seconds. This is happening quite frequently and is very noticeable. If I don't have any apps running in one of the DisplayLink monitors, I don't see the issue happening.

I Have a MacBook Pro Late 2010 running 10.11. On Yosimite I had 2 external displays (hdmi-thunderbolt and DVI-USB2. Using the 2.4 download, everything was fine. After the 10.11 update, and using the latest 2.5 Beta 2 download you provided, I don't seem to be getting a signal. The DVI-USB adapter doesn't seem to be recognized by my Mac. Any thoughts? Thank you.

I'm having the same problem; just upgraded to el capitan and can no longer watch hd videos through my via cable. Help!

I have a MacBook Air OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 and I am using DHD3000 3.0 Dual Head Display Adapter with driver 2.4 downloaded 10-2-15 to connect dual dell monitors. When i first installed the drivers only one of my USB ports recognized the the DHD3000 and the other port worked for about 10 seconds then my wifi went out.
I uninstalled the driver, restarted my Macbook Air, TURNED OFF the WIFI, Reinstalled it, plugged everything in so both displays were working, then turned on Wifi. It connected for a second then went back to searching for Wifi. After 30 Seconds, it reconnected and did that 2 or 3 more times but it has been working fine after that. I'm not sure if having the Wifi turned off during install of the driver and initial plug in of the monitors should make a difference, but it did in my case.
        I hope this helps.

Updated to 10.11 and my 2nd display (Orico USB3 to HDMI adapter, MacBook Pro mid 2012) working as well as before (Yosemite) and I'm still using ver 2.4 driver. Look forward to improvements with ver 2.5 driver.

@Developers are you able to coax OS X into not drawing shadows onto connected displays when the DisplayLink screen is being used to draw them? It seems that when a window has a shadow that overflows onto another ATI or Nvidia driven display that the window drawing slows down dramatically and slows down overall performance.

http://plugable.com/products/uga-2k-a -- used 4 + 2x display port out before el captain. Using 2.5 they fail kinda randomly... anywhere from 1 to 5 monitors. Continuing to use yosemite drivers. Kinda works... a lot of unplugging and replugging things randomly until they all "click" with the OS.

I just upgraded to OS X 10.11 and my usb monitor works without a hitch! Its connected to my kensington usb 3.0 dock via HDMI and the dock is connected to my 2012 macbook pro. Of course I'm running the latest version of display link driver

        - New driver does not work with my setup 4 DL monitors + 2 mini dv to 24 inch Dell monitors from 13in early 2015 mbp. Anywhere from one to all six displays have been operable. All six worked for about 20 minutes before one crashed and two others followed in short order. No apparent idea why, but at least one of the extended screens seems to turn on, and generally the one installed in the port nearest to the power.

I note that I had similar luck with the beta release supporting Yosemite and was using an even older version of the software to support my six display configuration, which actually worked great.

I will say though, for what it's worth, the remaining displays seem to perform better... not sure if it's a display like upgrade, performance boost from new os (widely touted) or the mere fact that the system doesn't have to deal with all the displays it did before... at any rate, about $800 of my hardware (including purchases of about $290 incorporating display link tech... hoping i can get to the bottom of this or that a beta update solves m woes.

Any useful logs to follow when I have time to sleep.. seemed for a minute like the trick might just have been connecting the monitors in the right order with the right time delay to make sure the software was available and the screen fully powered off... i will experiment using my .plist with disablemonitor and some sleep timers.

New driver does not work with Kingston USB2 / DVI or with Cable Matters USB3 / HDMI. With the Kingston plugged in the 2nd monitor is recognized but only shows black screen. With the Cable Matters plugged in there is no monitor recognition and the active USB indicator goes in and out. OSX 10.11 GM on 2013 MacBook Air 13"
