Can’t unlock the MacBook Pro with Apple Watch while displaylink is active
Can’t unlock the MacBook Pro with Apple Watch while displaylink is active because the machine thinks the screen is being shared. Please implement a flag to the OS that displaylink is not screen sharing but is an authorized virtual display.
Delivered in DisplayLink Manager 1.5. Details available from https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1977291 For individual feedback on this feature, please reach out to technical-enquiries@synaptics.com as individual replies are not possible via the idea board.

If it is a Apple thing, then why does a direct display not give this message? It is obviously a DisplayLink/Apple Thing, so both need to work on it.

I had a feeling this was happening because of the DisplayLink adapter. Great to have it working again, but this is is crappy.

We have reported it to them.

Support for unlock with Apple Watch
In both macOS High Sierra 10.13.x and Mojave 10.14, the "Unlock with Apple Watch" feature doesn't work if a DisplayLink display is connected. In 10.13.x it would just silently fail. In 10.14 you now get a slightly more informative message: "Unlocking with Apple Watch is not available while your screen is being shared".I understand that this may be another macOS limitation that is difficult or impossible to work around but it would be great if this could be addressed.

This is being declined as it would need to be fixed by Apple. There is nothing we can do in the DisplayLink driver to fix this.If you are affected by this issue, please raise it with Apple at https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/.

I hate this problem. It works if I shortcut the display cable directly into the display port but then I need both that one and the USB hub-cable that kills part of the value with DisplayLink but it's much worse to miss the Apple Watch unlocking value so I just want to echo the message here for you to take it directly with Apple since it is a big issue for a lot of people. I reported, logged and worked with Apple many hours since they release Mojave but still not feedback from Apple. -
