Fix drivers about screen lag when using external 4K monitor (macOS Catalina)
Please fix DisplayLink Drivers as using an external 4K monitor (Samsung S32R750) with Targus DV4K with latest drivers (5.2.5) on macOS Catalina (10.15.6 on MacBook Pro 16" 2020) plugged through Apple USB-C cable (40 Gbits) is making everything "laggy" on the external 4K (mouse, space change, video playing, etc.).
Everything has been tested (cables check and changes, switching HDMI or DisplayPort, using original Targus single USB-C cable or using Apple USB-C cable, etc.) to see this issue it is ONLY and DIRECTLY linked to DisplayLink Drivers on MacOS.
No issues when using a simple USB-C adapter with 4K HDMI (instead of my Targus DV4K Dock) : this is crazy as most of these adaptors are under $100 or even $50 compared to my Targus DV4K which is more than $300 !!

same here. When can a fix/update be expected?
it seems this is around for over a year with no solution. -

Same problem here, MacBookpro 2019. Targus DV4k(Dock190), connected with display port, extremely laggy when connected to my 4k monitor.

Same here. Macbook Air 2020 M1 16/256, Targus DV4K (DOCK180EUZ) connected with high-quality DisplayPort cables (tested with HDMI too) and apple usb-c cable. On 11.6 it's usable only if you think of the external display as a static image. Any kind of work requiring at least 60Hz is almost impossible as you just can't get used to lag. There is no difference if I connect 1 or 2 display monitors (1440p).
I'm using cables that are able to drive 1440p in 170Hz connected directly to Windows laptop without DisplayLink.

Mine lagged as well. It stopped when I switched to a display link to hdmi cord that supported 60hz refresh rate. The first one I was using only supported 30hz.

Same thing for me here. On a macbook pro with 10.15.7. Screen lags so much the $400 dock I just bought is unusable. The lag stops once you get down to 1280x720, but that is again unusable. Please fix these drivers.

Experiencing the same issue on Windows 10 for both Targus DV4k and Kensington SD4900P docking stations. This issue is evident for both Lenovo T480s and Razer Blade Pro 2019.
Like the original poster said, this isn't a docking station or laptop/pc problem, this is a DisplayLink Driver problem, that is affecting a wide range of consumers on current DisplayLink versions for Mac (1.5) and Windows (10.1).

Hi, is there a fix yet? It's been quite annoying to use the display since it's lagging like this... :/ I don't wanna buy a new docking station just because of a drivers issue (this one was quite expensive).

same here, macbok pro 16 inch, trying to connect 3 4k displays scaled to 2500 lags. If plugged directly in via usb-c it works fine

I have exactly the same issues. What an absolute load of rubbish. The Mac is more than capable but the display link monitors are just too laggy. SORT IT OUT ! So annoyed!

Same here. Unacceptable performance.

For those having slowness issues, I've noticed that if I set the resolution to 'native' and not scaled, that the lagginess goes away. It only seems to have laggy issues if I try to scale the screen to make all the text larger.
I've only had this issue since the recent mac upgrades.

Same issue. Just spent $200+ on two hubs that provide dual 4K @ 60Hz output. At that price this performance is completely unacceptable. This issue has been open since October. What's going on, DisplayLink? If your engineers are incapable, please contact me and I will provide you my contractor fees.

Same!!! 4k 60hz on displaylink is much worse and slower than original 4k 30hz, cannot be used at all...feel like I wasted my money on Dell D6000...

Same on Macbook Pro 16 with Big Sur 11.2.2 (20D80). Displaylink on Dell D6000 is unusable with 4k screen. Please fix this :(

I also have this issue with my 5k display that I have hooked into the Dell D6000 dock. Really hoping this issue can be addressed because having the lag is making using this display on my m1 mac mini really uncomfortable.
