Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

Can anyone suggest how to use mirroring? I installed driver 4.3 but it just shows a black screen on my external monitor.

I bought 2 new USB-C monitors now, sending my usb-c dock back. I don't judge anyone, but I need to work.
I hope you solve this quick, its really frustrating. -

People calm down, these guys are professionals, they know what their doing. just give them some time and check back @ a later date, there will be a fix. guaranteed. no problem. they said its being worked on. so be it.

Just like Leif Hanson I'm going to buy the thunderbolt to DVI adapter. That will also fix the relatively high CPU usage I experience when I ran VMWare Fusion Full Screen on the external screen through DisplayLink.

Please try to understand the issue before mouthing off on here. The issue affects USB-3/C and thunderbolt devices, the OS has put in some additional security features which unfortunately means DL will have to conform one way or the next but it wont be for a very long time. Safe yourself the grief of coming on this chat and shouting the odds. YES EVERYONE IS PISSED OFF. no need to come on here and repeat the same shit over and over and not contribute to the discussion with anything positive to say or help. I've seen many others simply follow the advice given, downgraded and are back to work, who might be even more pissed because of the lengths they had to go to, but never made a negative comment and just got on with it.
REMEMBER YOU"RE NOT THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO IS AFFECTED and EVERYONE IS FRUSTRATED. Save your self the time if you're going to be negative and simply join the mailing list.
HOPE THIS HELPS MORE PEOPLE WHO HAVE DOWNGRADED AND REPORT THEY ARE FINALLY BACK TO WORK.!!

Since I can no longer use 3 external monitors with my macbook pro, and not sure if/when I will be able to again, I figure I'll try something else. I just ordered a 43 inch 4K tv. Not sure if I'll like it, but I'll have a lot more real estate than I do now and I won't be sitting around waiting on a fix any longer.

Do we have an update on this? This is causing a massive issue for productivity and without any communication in regards to an update for over a week from DisplayLink is disheartening. Will look for other external video solutions from here on out.

Doesn't matter who's at fault, I'll never buy another DisplayLink product again for this lack of giving a crap about their customers by not communicating with us.

It would be really great if we could get an update from DL. Both a technical and a non technical. As I have users asking about this, we have nearly 200 High Sierra Macs that I would love to update. Until this is resolved I can't.
We had to email those 200 people to tell them not to manually update there machines (some very technical people some not) so an update for the 28 that already have would be nice.. (I am one of those people) -
