Support Night Shift and f.lux for Mac OS
As documented, there is work underway for Windows to support f.lux. However, I haven't seen any clear communication that support Night Shift of f.lux on Mac OS is in the works as neither are supported via DisplayLink. It would be really nice to have these options on Mac.
Blue light reduction on DL-3000, DL-5000 and DL-6000 series delivered via f.lux and DisplayLink Manager 1.7

+1. So far I couldn't find any workaround and I'm currently considering spending more and getting another device with this support, this is a fundamental feature.

Please get a move on with this. I just bought a £150 adapter for my M1 and the brightness at night is a disaster.
Is there a workable ETA?

+1. This has been an outstanding issue since forever. How far are you until we can finally use our external monitors properly?

Coming from Linux/Windows worlds, I'm used to have f.lux configured and working with my Docking station Targus DisplayLink...
How is it possible in 2020 to not have this basic feature on MacOS ?!?! 😱
I hope (I'm a dreamer) that they'll implement a solution soon... -

I support adding support for True Tone and Night Shift for macOS. It's distracting to have my two DisplayLink monitors as blue while my Apple Display and Macbook Pro displayed are yellow.

The inability to set this up in 2020 is really annoying and it would be great to have the night-shift turned on not only for my MacBook display but also for the other two I am using. The blue light I was not used to when using the previous and simpler HyperDrive is tearing my eyes apart!

I've recently noticed this issue as the blue light has begun to impact my sleep patterns and so looked to turn on night shift (or flux but it's the same problem). As this problem appears to have been an issue for 3.5 years and has since been fixed for Windows devices, I am left with little choice to look for a new dock and actively avoid DisplayLink technology unless this is fixed very soon (even a rough ETA would be useful for the many people who have this problem).

I have to return this docking station because this feature is essential.

Like Dawei Z. commented. Commenting again to bubble up a work around:
To get Night Shift working on Mac OS:1. Quit the Display Link Manager app and set it so that it does not start on bootup.
2. Unplug the USB wire (or any other wire connected to the Macbook)
3. Replug it. Wait for 10 seconds. The monitor will show up and Night Shift will be working.I am using a Dell D6000 hub which requires Display Link to show the displays - but monitors work fine AND with Night Shift if the DisplayLink Manager is not running in the background.

I am going to make sure to not recommend DisplayLink to anyone and point out the numerous shortcomings. Ergonomics being the utmost important for comfortable monitor use. This has been implemented for Windows only and there is no excuse to not have it for Mac or Linux still.

You've been now gathering feedback for over three years. Time to actually do this.

Whomever working on DisplayLink who is capable of fixing this but hasn't yet prioritized the issue, you should be embarrassed by your level of gross negligence that went into the assault my eyes just received. I'm immediately returning my Dell D6000. Disgraceful!

I just got a Lenovo port replicator that needs DisplayLink to work with a macbook .... and night shift is not working. Awful! Laptop display image great, monitor image sucks. I switched back immediately to my old port replicator.
I will use the Lenovo again when night shift is working. Thus, I need to check this page regularly. -

I'm having a really hard time justifying a usb dock with this software if I can't filter blue light, hurts too much!

Can we please have some kind of official comment on this? It's unbearable on my Dell dock.
