Fix drivers with amd catalyst 15.71 vote
This should be fixed in v7.9 software. There is a release candidate available here, which should fix the issue until the release is out..
I recently found out through a very circuitous process that my monitor is failing. But in this process, instead of alerting me to any issue, the drivers would crash and the icon would disappear from my system tray, making me think your software was malfunctioning. Instead, such a crash should be caught with exception handling, and then alert the user there is a hardware malfunction.1 vote
We already try to gracefully restart whenever possible. You might encounter an unforeseen case not handled properly which would need crash dumps to be investigated.
Now power delivery is working unstable.
I have a dell d6000 dock. After update to Catalina and upgrade to latest displaylink driver my macbook can suddenly stop having power delivery from dock.
Please enable power delivery, or disable it. I want stable environment.1 vote
The power delivery part of the dock is not part of the DisplayLink driver, but there is a firmware update (version A03) available for the dock from Dell which has fixed this for users that have contacted us with a similar issue:
In the previous windows version DisplayLink7.5M1 the auto-hide of the taskbar applied across all screens. This no longer happens in the latest version DisplayLink7.9M2.1 vote
Now works as expected so marking completed. Thank you Gil!
I wrote the program removes desktop icons into a side window. You wrote it does not. I uninstalled your software and got my icons back on my desktop. I want you to cease attempting to reinstall your software. I will NOT accept your software on my computer!1 vote
Our software is not made to modify the desktop icons. We suggest you enter a support ticket so we can look if our software is indeed the culprit as the icons might have been moved by windows to another desktop, your primary screen.
test drivers with the latest antivirus software1 vote
Your DisplayLink driver is unsigned. It won't work with 64bit Windows OS. I suggest fixing that if you want people to buy your product.1 vote
Our drivers are signed. If you use Windows 7, update with Microsoft security patches to verify Microsoft digital signature successfully.
HI, Let customers decide WHEN to install new drivers. (Automatic driver update messes up my 4 + 1 monitor trading station.) Thanks.
(the automatic updates re-arrange and resize everything on my screens causing me headache. The driver should be updater when no windows left opened / programmes running.)1 vote
8.0+ will cause the software update to happen over the next reboot, rather than immediately while you are working.
Add drivers for ARM, and specifically for Raspbian. Make the drivers work over HDMI instead of (or in addition to) working over USB.1 vote
ARM 32 bit binary is included in 4.4.
That’s not an actively supported platform though, due to the low level of requests. HDMI input in DisplayLink isn’t technically possible today.
Support for 21:9 Display resolution1 vote
DisplayLink technology doesn’t have any restriction on layout or aspect ratio. I suggest you open a technical support case with your details with tecnhical_enquiries at displaylink, com to check that you don’t hit a hardware limitation from your adapter.
Useful if you published the TEAM ID and KERNEL EXTENSION BUNDLE ID for enterprise deployment. We can track it down but it would be nice to have that information included and easily visible. Thanks.1 vote
This is already documented in our macOS corporate deployment article here: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/820758
I need to switch back and forth between two computers and am wondering if I can do so using the same Display Link set up? Has anyone tried
Two computers, one Displaylink?1 vote
Yes, this works. Simply install the drivers on both machines.
Clicking on your link to the amazon page for the AOC e1659Fwux- Pro sends an infinite amount of links due to not having an H at the beginning of the web address in the code.1 vote
Hi Josh and thank you. Link from our page to Amazon AOC entry was corrected today
As DisplayLink support is not embedded in the ChromeOS 51 build and later, you should add 3+ monitor support for ChromeOS. At this point someone would only be able to run it off of a Chromebook/Chromebox with higher ram (8-16GB+). But adding this support would mean A LOT more business use cases being satisfied.1 vote
DisplayLink imposes no limit on the number of DisplayLink enabled displays that can be connected on Chrome OS from R51 onwards.
Any limitations found will be OS restrictions rather than something added by DisplayLink.
This is standard Windows 10 feature now
If your monitors are blacking out using your DisplayLink D3100 check your chair.
I was having issues with my dual monitors randomly blacking out. After updating s/w, drivers and replacing the D3100 nothing worked.
As strange as it sounds, I was finally able to determine the cause was my chair. I have documented this in two videos.1 vote
The alternative could be to use better EMI immunised cables. These usually have ferrite beads which help eliminate transients.
Do not recommend installing the msi version of DisplayLink Drivers and then disabling Windows Update. I don't think a vendor should be recommending to customers to turn off Windows Update. DisplayLink should work out a way of getting the 2 working together. Happy to discuss further.1 vote
This has been done since 8.0 and was only relevant to Windows 7 – Windows 10 TH2.
Considering that displaylink is growing in our company we are facing more complications with Displaylink not working on particular models very well like MS surface devices. But it is also now happening to our Dell estate. So maybe DisplayLink can come with a logging tool so that when it is used it creates a dump which we can pass on to help get an answer from you quicker.1 vote
Hello, thank you for the suggestion. Here is a link to a tool gathering the machine details and logs for troubleshooting. It also packages it in a ZIP file, ready to communicate to technical support
extend the resolution to 3440 x 14401 vote
Devices using the adequate DisplayLink chip(set) can already support that resolution. Table available from http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/525038
No need to explain more, its a basic and simple requirement. I want to exit the application when i am not using it. "DisplayLink manager" application is now like some malware which does not allow you to close it.1 vote
Windows graphics subsystem cannot just be shut down like that. That’s the reason why you often have to reboot to install some Windows Updates. This has been addressed in Windows 10 Anniversary Update onwards though, where you can just remove the utility from startup or simply not install it. Marking completed.
