This will open the screen display properties as shown below:
The display layout can be changed to match the physical layout of the displays, or set to extend or mirror other displays.
Issues setting the display layout
When there are more than 2 displays in the layout, there can be problems setting the configuration. These are issues in the Ubuntu interface and not specific to DisplayLink.
The follow error messages could be seen when connecting or configuring displays:
"Failed to apply configuration: %s"
"The selected configuration for the displays could not be applied"
Separated or overlapped displays
The layout of the displays may also become separated or overlapped. Eg:
These layouts can be fixed using the command xrandr from a Terminal. Note that DisplayLink displays will always show up as connected through DVI:
xrandr enables the layout or screen resolution to be set. Eg:
- Set the resolution:
xrandr --output DVI-1-0 --mode 1680x1050
- Set the position:
xrandr --output DVI-1-0 --left-of DVI-2-1
