  1. Add an option to make task icon invisible, when no device is connected

With the recent drivers the behavior of the task icon changed. It is now always visible. It would be great to add an option so that the user could define the preferred behavior.

    • Ubuntu drivers eating a lot of CPU. Not always but at least 50% of the times

I have actually a very slow PC because of this:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
      1541 root 20 0 2343424 51804 2624 S 111.9 1.4 198:49.14 DisplayLinkMana
in other words, DisplayLinkMana(ger) eats a lot of CPU. from 50 to more than 100%

      sometimes not.

I think this is an issue, that should be fixed.

      Thank you.

        • Increased Mouse lag since the W10 Redstone / DP Driver 8.0 Update.

I have increased Mouse lag since the W10 Redstone / DisplayLink Driver 8.0 Update. I have a 3-screen Setup here. Surface Pro 3 + the DisplayLink USB Docking Station with 2 additional Screens. Working on those 2 external Screens got a bit tedious since the W10 Redstone / DisplayLink 8.0 Update. Maybe I´m too sensitive, but I feel enough mouse lag on the external Screens to slow down my daily work a bit. I´m using the DisplayLink Adapter since 2 years now and there were highs and lows regarding lag, but Version 7.9 on Windows 10 1511 was really good.…

          • Some applications detect DisplayLink as incompatible display driver. Problem exists with Adobe Premiere Elements 14, X-Plane, GoPro Quik

When using DisplayLink some applications show incompatible display driver error. Problem exists with Adobe Premiere Elements 14, X-Plane, GoPro Quik on Windows 10 and I'think at last since version 8 of drivers. Solution is to open them on laptop screen and then switch to displays connected via DisplayLink (in my case i-tec USB 3.0 docking station). It would be nice if it could be solved.

              • Add support for rotation in Ubuntu

Currently this limitation exists "Rotation is not supported due to missing functionality in the generic modesetting driver". I have a monitor that I only use in portrait so this prevents me from fully moving to Linux.

                • Not working on ubuntu 16.04

After I upgraded to 16.04 LTS, I could not use my DisplayLinks graphics/ethernet adapter for graphics (ethernet works fine). I recently installed the newest driver (1.2.65) but I get this error:

Warning: dlm.service changed on disk. Run 'systemctl daemon-reload' to reload units.
Job for dlm.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status dlm.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

I run journalctl as suggested by the error message and here is what I get:

26 16:27:28 myhost systemd[1]: Starting DisplayLink Manager Service...

                  • Linux: reach Windows feature parity (mirroring, scaling, and rotating)

Currently unsupported / broken in DisplayLink on Linux:

                    - Display mirroring
                    - Display scaling
                    - Display rotation

This really limits what you can actually do with DisplayLink on Linux - i.e. you can only currently have an extended display activated with no scaling or rotation. You can't even use only the DisplayLink connected display on its own.

                    • The current display link drivers has issues on MacOS 10.12 Sierra. Black screens waking from sleep and graphic Errors

When my computer wakes from sleep, all of my screens will stay black until I unplug the dock. I also see a lot of graphic errors on the secondary display and the computer freezes a lot when I'm working on the secondary display. Not only is the dock causing my secondary display to not work, it is causing my computer to become unstable trying to correct it.

                        • Support for Dell XPS in Ubuntu 16.10

It seems to me that many people are reporting instability issues for Ubuntu 16.10 using the latest 1.2.65 driver. Severe instabilities occur for certain types of hardware that was supported in Ubuntu 16.04.

I have a Dell XPS 13 (9343) and DL-3100. The screen keeps disappearing and re-appearing. It happens really randomly and sometimes many times per minute, other times it might be once per 20 minute. The displays go to black and everything crashes. It crashes often, but not always. This makes the applications stuck to that display crash as well. It is very poor performance (lag/hanging/high CPU usage)…

                            • Create ubuntu repository for your software.

Maybe do a PPA or some sort of repo for the software so it can be easily installed and upgraded.

                                      • Fix linux driver scaling

Scaling doesn't work with the linux DisplayLink driver. This makes it impossible to use displays of different DPI together. By scaling I mean, for example:

xrandr --output DVI-I-1 --auto --scale 2x2

The change is needed in the operating system kernel mode graphics driver. Microsoft is looking into scheduling this development. In the meantime, provided you have purchased a platform allowing you to, the workaround is to disable the low end GPU so Windows uses the only one left. Today, Windows will always use the POST graphics card.
